Mimi Turin has over 30 years experience at many different levels of local government, but her unique background gives her insight into the issues presented in labor and employment disputes, and all aspects of local government litigation. Having worked as both an entry-level employee as well as a manager in a major police agency before starting her career as an attorney, she is well-aware of the viewpoints and emotions on both sides of the table. As an attorney who has represented employees as well as management in all aspects of bargaining and litigation, Mimi is intimately aware of the destructive effect litigation can have on workplace morale and productivity, and that effective mediation can let everyone move on.

She is intimately familiar with employment issues and law enforcement protocols. Board Certified by the Florida Bar in City, County & Local Government Law since 2001, she brings that insight to help resolve not only labor and employment issues, but also the many other issues involving local governments such as Civil Rights claims, challenges involving Code and Charter provisions, police and prison litigation, procurement, and public records disputes. Mimi is a strong negotiator, who can help the parties reach a resolution that will work for them.

Dispute Resolution Services

Having seen firsthand the issues involved in local government litigation, and the costs associated with litigation, Mimi recognized the need for alternate dispute resolution services that took into account the special needs involved when litigation includes government entities, and the concept behind TCDR was born. In addition to Florida, Mimi is  actively handling disputes in the Pacific Northwest,  and is available in-person, via Zoom and by telephone.

The Turin Center for Dispute Resolution (“TCDR”) is dedicated to providing alternate dispute resolution services for legal disputes.
